Hyde Housing works across a diverse range of properties within the Hyde Group and are looking to strengthen their customer facing plumbing and domestic heating teams with enthusiastic individuals who truly know their future lies in this expert field. Supported by experienced on job mentors alongside structured learning as part of their apprenticeship, the successful candidates will learn to diagnose and carry out repairs and replacements of all domestic plumbing and heating systems, to deliver a prompt and high standard service to residents enhancing overall customer satisfaction with the Hyde Group properties. This role focuses on developing core plumbing skills in the first two years, including installation, maintenance, and repair of domestic water and sanitation systems. Apprentices will gain hands-on experience and technical knowledge to become a competent plumbing professional. Key Responsibilities: -Provide a professional plumbing trade services to residents ensuring internal and external work sites are adequately protected, respecting customer privacy and property and safety whilst ensuring a high level of customer service is delivered. -If responsible for a Hyde van, perform routine maintenance checks on vehicles, reporting defects, accidental damage, or loss of property in accordance with standard procedures. -Assist with maintaining and monitoring the supply, stock, and use of plumbing and heating trade materials, ensuring only quality materials are utilised for any repair work undertaken enhancing the standard level of properties and service the Hyde Group offers customers. -Exercise and promote the highest levels of duty, care, and safety within all working environments to minimise any exposure to risk for all Hyde Group employees, properties, and customers. -Communicate effectively to our residents in their homes and demonstrate excellent customer care skills. -Assist and learn, training alongside qualified gas engineers in the delivery of works such as boilers, pipework, radiators and heating systems and day to day responsive repairs maintenance. -Learn, understand, and adhere to all safe systems of work Health and Safety requirements, policies, risk management guidelines to always ensure safe working procedures. Always wearing personal protective equipment (PPE). -Ensure any tools or machinery are operated following approved safety instructions/regulations. Future Prospects
Although not guaranteed, for the right candidate, on successful completion of their apprenticeship there will be prospects of moving into an improvers’ role at the end of an apprenticeship.

Apprenticeships with Hyde Housing involve working in customers’ homes, so applicants would need to possess social skills and strong understanding of customer satisfaction. Our customers cover a wide diversified range of all ages and needs. This role would be based out of the Havant Office and cover areas up to one driving distance from the office address. A driving license would be an advantage although not essential. Drivers may progress onto driving company vans in year 2 if suitable. Non-drivers would need to travel to the Havant office for collection in the mornings. There are 2 positions available, and the successful candidates will undergo initial assessment at the start of their role. This apprenticeship is for 4.5-year apprenticeship including end point assessment. You MUST BE free from full time education to be eligible to apply for an apprenticeship. -You MUST BE resident in the UK for a minimum of 3 years prior to the start of learning and have work authorisation for the UK. -You MUST BE resident in the area local to the apprenticeship opportunity or be prepared to relocate in time to start employment and study. -You MUST BE committed to completing the full apprenticeship Custom Questions: - Please tell us why you are interested in becoming a plumber? - Why do you feel you are suitable for this apprenticeship? - Please tell us your experience of dealing directly with customers?
