The successful candidate will work closely with the Operational team at The Phoenix Theatre & Arts Centre, combining work placed learning within an exciting arts organisation with study to gain a Level 3 apprenticeship as a creative industries production technician.

Long Description
Key Responsibilities -To provide technical support for the construction, rehearsal, presentation and removal of a live performance, for an audience or camera. -To undertake venue maintenance duties such as housekeeping, re-lamping, painting and basic venue repair work. -To become multi-skilled across a wide range of technical disciplines and possess a broad level of knowledge relevant to the diverse environment. -Assemble and configure structures and systems such as scenic and rigging structures, lighting, sound, power, dimming, amplification and control systems. -To undertake fault-finding of components and systems e.g. eliminating feedback in a live audio system. -Prepare written information and reports e.g. cue sheets, post-performance reports and handover notes. -Prepare risk assessments and method statements to help ensure safe planning and delivery of work processes in the venue. -Programme and operate computerised control equipment -Set and change scenes in live performance

Subject to the completion of the Sergeants Mess, the next venue in the Phoenix Arts venue portfolio, we hope to be able to offer the successfully graduated Creative Industries Production Technician a role that would encompass The Phoenix Theatre & Arts Centre, The Cube at The Shed and the Sergeants Mess.

Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £6.40 per hour (As of the 1st April 2024). This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16 to 18 year old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum Wage appropriate to their ages applies.
